Surin and Bang Tao run into Laguna, Cherngtalay and Kamala, so there is plenty nearby. You can step up to a private pool home with our villas in Surin and Bang Tao, or compare other beaches across Phuket.
Every building we list here has a shared pool, and nearly all of them have a gym as well — the listing confirms it for each.
A private pool is rare in an apartment; for that, look at the villas.
From most of them, yes. Bang Tao is a long, flat stretch and the majority of our buildings sit within a kilometre of the sand.
Each listing shows exactly where it is, so you can check before booking.
It is the easy answer for a first trip that is not Patong. Six kilometres of quiet beach, the Laguna complex behind it, and Boat Avenue and Porto de Phuket for food and shopping without going anywhere near Bangla Road.
It is also the closest of the west-coast beaches to the airport.
It is one of the better choices on the island. The beach shelves gently, it is long enough that it never feels crowded, and there is very little traffic between the buildings and the sand.
Everything you need day to day is at Boat Avenue.
Boat Avenue and Porto de Phuket cover eating, shopping and a weekly market. The Laguna complex behind the beach has an 18-hole golf course and lagoons you can cross by shuttle boat.
Surin, the next bay south, is smaller and smarter, and the headland between Surin and Kamala is the stretch people call Millionaire’s Mile.
A good number sit within reach of Laguna Golf Phuket, the 18-hole course behind the beach, and it is one of the filters on this page. The listing says so where it applies.
Some do, and the listing states it. Bang Tao is largely low-rise, so a sea view here usually means an upper floor or a rooftop pool rather than a window over the sand.
About 20 km south, thirty to forty minutes by road depending on traffic. Far enough that none of Patong’s noise reaches you, close enough for an evening out.
Kamala sits between the two, roughly 10 km away.
They are neighbouring bays and share a coastline, but Surin is much smaller, steeper and smarter, with less within walking distance.
Bang Tao is longer, flatter and has far more behind it. If you want to walk to shops and food, Bang Tao is the easier of the two.
Getting there, getting around, the beach and what is near it.
The north-west coast, and the closest of the main beaches to the airport.
Grab works reliably here, so you do not have to negotiate a fare at the roadside.
Flat, spread out, and easier without a car than most of Phuket.
Laguna’s lagoons are crossed by shuttle boat, and the complex is nearly traffic-free inside.
Six kilometres of sand, one of the longest and quietest on the island.
Enough within reach that you do not have to plan every day.
Surin is smaller and smarter than Bang Tao, with less within walking range. Layan, at the north end, is quieter than both.
