For more villas nearby, look at our villas in Kamala just north, or a condo in the centre with our apartments in Patong.
Most sit on the hillsides above Patong Bay rather than on the sand โ that is simply where the space is in Patong. It buys you a private pool, room to spread out and a view over the bay, with the beach and the town a short drive down.
If walking to the sea matters more than the view, say so and we will point you at an apartment closer in.
Most of them do, and each listing states it. A few sit in small developments where the pool is shared instead.
If it has to be your own, use the Private Pool filter on this page and you will only see those.
For a hillside villa, plan on a car or a taxi app rather than walking. The roads up from Patong are steep, no fun on foot in the heat, and not where you want to learn to ride a scooter.
Once you are down in the centre, everything is walkable.
From the hillside villas it is usually five to ten minutes down by car. Patong itself is compact โ once you are there, the beach road, Jungceylon and Bangla Road all sit within a few minutesโ walk of one another.
Up on the hill, no. The noise is concentrated around Bangla Road and the few streets either side of it, and it does not carry far.
That is the trade the hillside villas make โ quiet at night, a short drive to everything.
Some of our Patong villas include it, and one or two include it daily โ the listing states what comes with each.
Where it is not included we can usually arrange it, so ask us before you book rather than after you arrive.
From roughly November to April, yes โ the sea is usually calm and lifeguards are on the beach through the day. From May to October the southwest monsoon brings swell and rip currents, and the red flags go up.
A red flag means stay out, even when the water looks fine from the sand.
It works well when you want everything in one place โ the beach, the food, the shops and the island boats. Families tend to prefer a villa up the hill with its own pool, using the town for days out rather than staying in the middle of it.
Karon is about 5 km south and Kata about 9 km if you want somewhere quieter to compare.
November to April is the dry season โ calm sea, dependable sun, and the busiest stretch is December to February.
May to October is far greener and much quieter, with heavy showers that usually pass within the hour and a sea that is often not safe for swimming.
Getting there, getting around, the beach and what is near it.
Patong sits on the west coast, over the hill from Phuket Town.
Grab works reliably in Patong, so you do not have to negotiate a fare at the roadside.
The centre is flat and walkable. The hills either side of it are not.
Hillside villas sit well above the bay, so check the listing map โ on those roads a car is far more use than a scooter.
Three kilometres of sand, the longest on this coast โ a town beach, not a quiet one.
Almost everything is walkable, and the rest is within half an hour.
Eating spreads out from the beach road. Baan Rim Pa has been on the cliff at Kalim for more than twenty-five years; No.ย 6 and Kaab Gluay are long-standing Thai favourites; Simon Cabaret has staged its shows here for decades.
