Patong Beach Holiday Rentals: Your Questions

Most vacation rentals in Patong are apartments in condominium buildings, from studios to three-bedroom homes, many with a communal pool and gym. On the hills around the bay there are private pool villas for families and groups. Every home we list is managed by our own team.

Prices follow the seasons. In the low season (May to October) a studio or one-bedroom apartment is usually around ฿1,400 to ฿2,000 a night, and a two-bedroom around ฿3,500. In the high season (December to February) the same homes often cost about three times as much, and Christmas and New Year are the most expensive weeks. Private pool villas start from around ฿4,500 a night in the low season. Add your dates in the search to see the exact price.

Yes. Families usually choose a two or three-bedroom apartment with a communal pool, or a private pool villa on the hillside, away from the noise of Bangla Road. You can filter our search by private pool, communal pool and washing machine.

  • Book early for December to February and the school holidays.
  • Stay at the quieter ends of the bay or on the hillside rather than near Bangla Road.
  • Check the number of bedrooms and bathrooms against your group.
  • Ask us about a cot or high chair before you book.
  • Choose a home with a pool so the children have somewhere to cool off.

A pool (communal or private), good air conditioning and Wi-Fi, a washing machine for longer stays, and an easy walk or short ride to the beach. On the hillside, a sea view is worth it. You can filter by these in our search.

Be wary of requests to pay by bank transfer to a private person, prices far below similar homes, photos that appear elsewhere under other names, and hosts who will not give you the building name. Always get a written confirmation with the price and cancellation terms. With Lofty Villas, every home is checked by our own team and you pay through a secure payment link.

About 34 km, or 45 to 60 minutes by car. A taxi or private transfer is the easiest way; the Phuket Smart Bus takes around an hour and a half.

Planning a Holiday in Patong

Local knowledge from our team on where to stay, what to do and how to get here.

Patong Beach Holiday Rentals

Patong sits on the west coast of Phuket and is the busiest resort town on the island. People come here because everything is close. You can walk to the beach, the restaurants, the markets and the nightlife, so you spend less time in taxis and more time enjoying your trip. Vacation rentals in Patong Beach give you more space and more freedom than a hotel, whether you want a central home for two or a private pool villa for the whole group.

We list homes, condominiums and villas across Patong. Couples and solo travellers usually pick a central home or a one bedroom condominium near the beach. Families and groups tend to want a two or three bedroom condominium with a shared pool, or a private pool villa on the hillside above the bay. We manage every one ourselves, so what you book is what you get.

Staying in Patong

Patong is busy and fun, and that does not suit everyone. If you want a quiet, slow trip, Kamala or Cape Panwa will suit you better, and we will gladly point you there. If you want to be in the middle of it all, Patong puts you by the beach, the night market and Bangla Road.

As a rough guide, the centre works best for nightlife and walking everywhere, while the hillside and the quieter ends of the bay let you sleep away from the noise.

Things to Do in Patong

  • Patong Beach: 3.5 km of sand for swimming, jet skis, parasailing and paddle boards.
  • Bangla Road: the nightlife strip that fills up after dark with bars, clubs and live music.
  • Jungceylon: the big mall in the centre for shopping, food and a cinema.
  • Banzaan Fresh Market: a local market for fresh seafood, tropical fruit and ready to eat Thai food.
  • Simon Cabaret: the famous evening cabaret show, a short ride from the centre.
  • Patong Boxing Stadium: live Muay Thai most nights of the week.
  • Paradise Beach and Freedom Beach: quieter beaches just south for a calmer day by the water.
  • Island day trips: boats to the Phi Phi Islands, Phang Nga Bay and Coral Island leave from nearby piers.

Where to Eat in Patong

  • Baan Rim Pa: Royal Thai food and sea views in a teakwood house above Kalim.
  • L’Arome by the Sea: French fine dining over Kalim Beach, listed in the Michelin Guide.
  • Kaab Gluay: a local favourite for good Thai food at low prices.
  • Sam’s Steaks and Grill: known for some of the best steaks in Phuket.
  • La Gritta: Italian cooking and fresh seafood right at the edge of Patong Beach.
  • Banzaan food stalls: cheap, fresh Thai street food in the heart of town.
  • A local tip: skip the touts on Bangla Road and walk a few streets back for better food and fairer prices.

Best Time to Visit Patong

The dry season from November to April brings the best beach weather and the biggest crowds, so book early because the best homes go fast.

The green season from May to October stays quieter and better value, with short bursts of rain rather than all day downpours.

Getting to Patong

Patong sits around 45 minutes to an hour from Phuket International Airport by car. Once you arrive, you can walk most of the town, and taxis or scooters cover the rest.

We can arrange an airport transfer so a driver meets you when you land and takes the stress out of the first day.
