Bang Tao, Surin and Layan on the west coast have the newest beachfront condos, about 20 to 30 minutes from the airport. Kamala next door is calmer and good for families. Patong and Karon are the busiest and best for nightlife and walkability. Rawai and Nai Harn in the south feel the most local and suit longer stays.
